Structured Water: Benefits for Your Health
Have you ever heard of structured water? Benefits of it for your health are numerous, but this topic is just starting to gain traction in the nutrition world. So join the pioneers in this fascinating field to unleash quantum healing in your body.
You probably remember from your childhood science classes that water has three phases- solid (ice), liquid, and gas (steam). But what if I told you that there is a type of water that is different from the liquid water we know? This has been named the fourth phase of water, or in short, structured water.
Structured water is water that has a unique molecular arrangement that sets it apart from regular water.
In this post, we’ll explore what structured water is, how it differs from liquid water, and how it can benefit your health. Read on to learn how you can structure your water for optimal health!
Structured Water Benefits Overview
Structured water is one of the quantum healing modalities that you can easily add to your healing journey.
Structured water is created when water molecules are arranged in a specific and ordered way, forming a crystalline structure. This type of water is found in natural springs and glaciers, and it has been shown to have numerous health benefits.
This type of water positively affects hydration levels and energy levels. But in order to understand how water can have such a significant impact on our body, it’s important to understand the meaning of “structured water”.
What is Structured Water?
Structured water is a unique form of water that has a different molecular structure from the liquid water (H2O) we normally drink. It is also known as “hexagonal water” or “EZ water.”
In structured water, the molecules are arranged in a hexagonal shape, as H3O2, which allows for easier absorption and better hydration. This unique arrangement of molecules also contributes to the water’s ability to carry and transfer energy.
One of the key features of structured water is the creation of an “Exclusion Zone” (hence the term EZ water). This zone is created when water molecules align themselves in a specific way, creating a gel-like layer that excludes impurities and toxins.
What you must understand, is that our body creates its own structured water, if we give it the right inputs.
This exclusion zone has been shown to have numerous health benefits, including improved cellular function and increased energy levels. But there’s more:
The Benefits of Structured Water for Your Health
Now that we’ve explored what structured water is and how it differs from regular liquid water, let’s dive into the benefits it can provide for your health.
1. Improved Hydration
Structured water has been shown to be easier for our bodies to absorb and utilize than regular liquid water. This means that when you drink structured water, you may be able to stay better hydrated for longer periods of time.

2. Increased Energy
Because structured water is more easily absorbed by our cells, it can lead to increased energy levels. This is because our cells are better able to produce energy when they are properly hydrated.
3. Better Digestion
When our bodies are properly hydrated, our digestive system functions more efficiently. This can lead to better nutrient absorption, less bloating, and improved digestive health, leading to improved overall health.
4. Reduced Inflammation
Research has shown that structured water has anti-inflammatory properties, which can help to reduce inflammation throughout the body. This can be especially beneficial for those with conditions such as arthritis or other inflammatory diseases.
5. Improved Detoxification
Structured water may also be more effective at removing toxins from the body. This is because it is better able to penetrate cell membranes and remove waste products from within our cells.
6. Better Skin Health
Drinking structured water may also be beneficial for your skin health. When our cells are properly hydrated, our skin is better able to retain moisture, leading to a more youthful and radiant appearance.
So now that we know why we want to drink structured water, let’s understand how our body creates structured water within itself.
How does our body make Structured Water?
The exclusion zone (EZ) is a layer of structured water that forms around cells and tissues in the body. This layer creates a barrier that prevents harmful substances from entering cells, while also allowing nutrients and oxygen to pass through.
The EZ is created when water molecules cluster together and form a hexagonal structure. This structure is more stable than the random arrangement of molecules found in liquid water.
So, how does water structure itself in the body to create an exclusion zone? The answer lies in the presence of charged surfaces in the body, which create a type of battery in our body.
The surfaces of cells and tissues are negatively charged, while the water molecules around them are positively charged. When the water forms H3O2 it becomes negatively charged, while the excess hydrogen forms it’s own structure outside of the H3O2. This is what creates a boundary that separates the two, that we then call an exclusion zone.
The process of creating structured water in the body is a self-organizing phenomenon. It doesn’t require external energy or intervention, but it does depend on the presence of charged surfaces. Therefore, any factors that disrupt the charge balance in the body can hinder the formation of structured water.

Research by Gerald Pollack on the Fourth Phase of Water
Research by Gerald Pollack, a professor of bioengineering at the University of Washington, has shown that structured water plays a crucial role in many biological processes.
Pollack’s research has shown that structured water forms the basis of the extracellular matrix, (what we have between our cells), which is essential for healthy cellular function.
He has extensively researched the properties of water and discovered the fourth phase of water called EZ or exclusion zone. Some of the key features of structured water, according to him are:
- The exclusion zone acts as a battery, generating energy that can be used by the body.
- Structured water has a negative charge, which makes it a potent antioxidant.
- Structured water can improve the efficiency of biological processes, such as photosynthesis and protein folding.
- It has a high oxygen content, providing the body with more oxygen for energy production.
- Research has also shown that structured water can improve hydration and the absorption of nutrients, leading to better overall health.
In addition, Pollack’s research has shown that the exclusion zone is created by light and heat. This means that exposing water to sunlight or heat can help create structured water. Pollack’s research has also shown that certain substances, (such as sugar) can hinder the structure of water.
Overall, Pollack’s research highlights the importance of structured water in promoting optimal health. By understanding the properties of structured water and how it is created, we can take steps to ensure that we are consuming the healthiest water possible.

Factors that Disrupt the Structure of Water
While structured water has numerous benefits for your health, it is also important to understand the factors that can hinder the structure of water. Here are some of them:
1. Toxins
Exposure to toxins in our environment can disrupt the structure of water, in addition to changing the deuterium levels in the water, making it less structured and less beneficial for our health. As if you needed another reason to avoid man-made toxins! One way in which heavy metals, which have been implicated in so many disease processes, impact our health is by affecting the water network in our body.
2. Chemicals
Chemicals in our water supply, such as chlorine and fluoride, can also disrupt the structure of water, in addition to changing the pH of it, making it less beneficial for our health. Another important reason to filter your water!
3. High pressure
Water that is subjected to high pressure can also lose its structure. This comes into play when we think about filtering our water, such as with with reverse osmosis. While it is absolutely necessary to filter tap water these days, keep in mind that it then needs to be remineralized, and ideally, structured as well.
4. Acidic foods
Consuming a diet high in acidic foods, such as sugar and processed foods, can also make it harder for your body to create structured water. You didn’t think we could go a whole article without mentioning that you need to avoid processed food, right?
5. Radiation
Non native radiation has a detrimental impact on water. One of the reasons that wifi has a negative impact on our body is because it destroys some of the strucutre and dehydrates our cells.
By avoiding these factors, you can help support the structure of water in your body and reap the numerous health benefits it provides.
Incorporating Structured Water into Your Life
Now that you know the benefits of structured water, you may be wondering how you can incorporate it into your daily life.
There are several methods for structuring water, including vortexing, magnetic fields, and adding minerals. One of the most effective ways to structure water is through the use of a structured water device, which uses natural forces to restructure water at the molecular level.
Structured water devices work by utilizing vortexing, which mimics the natural movement of water in nature, creating a stable and organized structure.
How to structure water
There are various products available in the market that claim to structure water. Here are some of the most popular ones:
1. Structured water units
These are devices that use specific technologies to restructure water molecules, making them more stable and organized. These units come in different shapes and sizes, from small portable units to larger units that can handle the water supply of an entire house.
Here are a couple of options of water filters that also structure water:
2. Water pitchers and bottles
These are containers made from specific materials that help structure water molecules. Some examples are glass pitchers, ceramic pitchers, and water bottles made from tourmaline or volcanic rock.
It is important to note that not all products claiming to structure water may actually be effective. It is essential to research the product and read reviews from other users before investing in one.
3. Stirring your water
One more option, assuming your water has been filtered and sufficient minerals have been added back in, is to stir your water with a wooden stick. Make sure you get a vortex so that it spins at least 6 times.
This is a simple method for structuring your water. You can also get fancy and use a special water structuring stick which may give it some of it’s energetic imprint.
4. Teas and more
Another option is using herbal teas to affect the structure of water. Some of the energetic value from the tea can be helpful in creating a better hydration experience.
Structured Water on the GAPS Diet
The GAPS diet supports your body’s own healing mechanism by providing the nutrients you need to rebuild, and removing obstacles to detoxification. One of the most important components of this nutritional protocol is consuming copious amounts of broth.
During the introduction diet, we focus exclusively on meat stock. On Full GAPS you can also incorporate bone broth. Both liquids that we refer to as “broth” are a nutrient dense super food, full of amino acids necessary to rebuild the gut lining.
Moreover, in addition to providing the bio-chemical support (nutrients such as protein, minerals and water), meat stock and bone broth help to, you guessed it, structure the water!
So one of the most important components of the GAPS diet is this large amount of structured water, which supports your fascial membranes, aids in detoxification by supporting lymphatic flow and escorting out toxins.
As if you needed another reason to consume broth! Even if you are not specifically following the GAPS diet, don’t miss out on this powerful way to consume structured water throughout the day.
The Bottom Line
In summary, structured water is a unique form of water that has numerous benefits for our health. Through the work of scientists like Gerald Pollack, we now know that water can actually structure itself in a way that creates an exclusion zone, which can have powerful effects on our cells and organs.
Unfortunately, many factors in our environment today, such as pollutants and electromagnetic radiation, can hinder the structure of water and make it less effective in promoting health. But don’t worry – there are simple steps you can take to structure your water, such as using a structured water filter or adding minerals to your drinking water.
By making these changes, you can take advantage of the health-promoting properties of structured water and enjoy a healthier, more vibrant life.
